Escuela Caracol - The Beginning

Escuela Caracol is what brought me to where I have called home for over the past two years. Through my work within the school, I had the opportunity to develop strong relationships with children, parents and entire families. I learned tremendously about anthroposophy and grew not only professionally, but also, personally. These are just a few samples of marketing and communication materials that I worked on. In addition, I managed the website, www.escuelacaracol.org (which has since been completely revamped!), increased social media presence, worked on the $40,000 fundraising campaign for new classrooms, prepared sponsor updates (including photographing, writing and designing) and more... oh, can't forget! I also taught! Incredibly grateful for the welcoming that Escuela Caracol gave me in introducing me to San Marcos La Laguna, Sololá, Guatemala.

Free Arts - Mentor Impact

Free Arts Minnesota is a NGO based in the twin cities that works creatively with at-risk youth in various social service agencies. ART HEALS! During my time with Free Arts, I worked as Program Coordinator, volunteer mentor and intern.

Here is a flier that I designed for volunteer recruitment during a time of expansion (doubling the amount of committed volunteers!).

This is a reflection on my experience as a mentor. I can still attest that these kids still have a place in my heart and thoughts

Vilas Shoe - Filled with Fairy Tales

This was my first large-scale community painting. The shoe is painted annually each summer. During the summer of 2010, the theme was fairy tales (little did I know that this would come in later when I was introduced to Waldorf education!).

Article in the local newspaper. I'm pictured painting in the middle image on the right column in green shirt and glasses.
